Nations fielding the most Premier League players
Once group matches begin, the top-scorer table swaps from model projections (xP/90) to live tournament goals + assists from football-data.org. The PROVISIONAL badges drop off after each nation's final 26-man squad is formally confirmed.
Model methodology →Common questions about WC 2026 leaderboards
Who is projected to be the World Cup 2026 top scorer?›
Pre-tournament, our model favours premium attackers from elite nations as projected top scorers: Kylian Mbappé (France), Erling Haaland (Norway), Harry Kane (England), Lautaro Martínez (Argentina), Vinícius Júnior (Brazil), and Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal). Once group-stage matches play, the board flips to live tournament data from football-data.org with actual goals and assists.
How is the projected points-per-90 (xP/90) calculated?›
xP/90 is our heuristic forecast for fantasy points per 90 minutes. Inputs: player position (FWD highest baseline, GK lowest), club tier (top-six PL clubs and elite European clubs add 0.6), marquee-name boost for proven elite scorers (+0.8), and a small expected-squad haircut (-0.3) for players whose call-up is inferred but not confirmed. The output gives a fair pre-tournament ranking — once matches play, projections will weight by actual minutes and goal involvement.
Which Premier League club has the most World Cup 2026 players?›
Manchester City and Arsenal typically top the club leaderboard, each contributing players across 8-10 different nations. Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham follow. The exact ranking refreshes as final 26-man squads are confirmed by each federation.
Why are nations like England, Netherlands and Spain so high on the PL footprint board?›
These are the European nations whose players predominantly play in the Premier League. England leads with 22 PL players, Netherlands carries 15, then Belgium and Senegal at 8 each. Nations from non-European confederations typically have fewer PL representatives, which is why the board is UEFA-heavy.
Where can I see live World Cup 2026 goal-scorers during the tournament?›
This leaderboards page swaps from model projections to live tournament data as soon as matches play — top scorers, top assists, minutes and disciplinary stats. We pull from football-data.org with hourly refresh. Bookmark this page for daily tournament updates.
