Fulham after five gameweeks
Fulham start 2026/27 under Álvaro Arbeloa, who replaced Marco Silva in the summer. It has been a hard start: nineteenth after Gameweek 5 with two points, from defeats to Chelsea, Sunderland and Crystal Palace, a goalless draw at Liverpool and a 1-1 with Manchester United. Five scored, eight conceded.
Three of those defeats were by a single goal, and the draw at Anfield was a clean sheet. The results have been worse than the performances — and what comes next is the reason to look at Fulham now.
The easiest next five in the league
After the international break Fulham play Ipswich (A), Hull (H), Coventry (A), Aston Villa (A) and Newcastle (H). The FPL difficulty ratings put the first three at 2 and the last two at 3 — the easiest five-game run of any club in the division, starting in GW6.
That is when cheap Fulham players are worth a place: bench slots that can start, or a fifth defender who might return. Fulham assets are cheap, so the cost of trying is low.
Who to pick
Josh King is Fulham’s top FPL scorer with two goals and has started every game at £5.5m. Timothy Castagne has two assists from right-back and has started every game at £4.5m. Bernd Leno has played every minute in goal at £4.5m.
Alex Iwobi takes the corners and direct free kicks and is third on penalties, but has no returns yet. Gonzalo García is first on penalties and has started every game up front with one goal. Antonee Robinson, second on penalties, has played nearly every minute at left-back.
How much Fulham to own
One or two cheap Fulham players for GW6 to GW8 is the play: King, and Castagne or Leno. None of them is a long-term hold on the evidence of the opening five, and none needs to be — at these prices they are easy to move on when the run ends.
